Show: Knight Rider 2008
TED version: 0.96 and 0.97 beta

Trying to download the knight rider season, so selected S01E02. Downloads fine if I go to mininova but if I download it via TED, I get the error
Found 'n' torrents but downloaded none

So I go into advanced settings for the show and set number of seeders and minimum size to 0 and maximum size to 80000Mb and it still wont download. Any ideas? This problem is not just affecting this show, many others too..

In the log file it should say why it didn't download the torrents.

Yeah, it says tracker returns no information but if you download the torrent manually, it starts to download the file so is there a bug / unnecessary blockage if TED can't get tracker info?

Probably the tracker is indeed offline but your torrent client uses a special kind of protocol so it can find seeds. I am too lazy to look up the name of the protocol but it's there :)and it's something we can't implement in ted :(

Hello, I'm brand new to ted....but was excited to find it as it's exactly what I've been wanting. However, I'm experiencing the same sort of difficulty as SiGainey....to the point that it unfortunately makes ted useless to me.

I'd like to second the idea of in some way telling ted to "just get the darned torrent since I know it's fine because I can download it manually".

Any advise how I can get the many torrents ted finds (torrents that work manually) to download would be much appreciated as I'm about to abandon this tool as simply not usable. No disrespect intended - looks like a great tool people have put a lot of work into - but this aspect is pretty serious since it ignores ALL the torrents that in reality DO work, except for the fact ted thinks they're no good.

I'm sorry to hear that. Some of the problems have been solved in the soon to be released new version. In the mean time you can try out the development build: https://ted.nu/wiki/index.php/Development_builds

Can there be an override to 'just download the torrent if it's not a webpage'

How would you imagine this feature? Just download one or select one from the log?

It won't be in the next version but maybe we can take your suggestions into account when developing this feature.

I'd err away from prompting / selecting from the log as it bring user-interaction into the equation. Automation which is something that's a great feature of TED to me, so I'd pick the most seeded torrent that matches the search criteria... 8)

I want to thank the developer for creating this product, it's very useful. But I am having an issue that's similar to the previous posts.

I am on OS X and use Transmission as my torrent program.

I'm trying to catch up with Weeds Season 5, episode 3. I am using ver .97 and I allowed TED to automatically generate the feeds (which includes the EZRSS feed). When I have TED update the program for Weeds I get this error from the log:

Code:
Oct 5, 2009 @ 8:28 AM:
Parse results for Weeds - Season: 5, Episode: 3: "Su-Su-Sucio"
---------------
Found:
1. http://torrent.zoink.it/Weeds.S05E03.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION.[eztv].torrent
2. http://torrent.zoink.it/Weeds.S05E03.HDTV.XviD-aAF.[eztv].torrent
---------------
Rejected:
1. Error verifying torrent contents: the tracker returned no information
2. Episode is not of HD quality: 720p & HD not present in torrent title
---------------
Downloaded:
No torrent downloaded

Of course, if you go to
http://www.ezrss.it/search/index.php?show_name=weeds&date=&quality=&release_group=&mode=rss

The feeds are listed and will add to Transmission when clicked.

So what the heck is torrent.zoink.it? Who cares about that? I want the EZRSS feed to download.

Any suggestions are welcome.

torrent.zoink.it is the site where EZTV publishes their torrents, so links to those torrents are in their RSS.

there seems to be a problem with ted connecting to the EZTV tracker. You can set the 'seeder' filter to 0 to bypass this. (ted connects to the tracker to verify the amount of seeders).
Double click the show, go to the filter tab and set the seeder filter to 0.

I changed the minimum number of seeders to 0 and I get the exact same error for this show.

Code:
Oct 5, 2009 @ 1:00 PM:
Parse results for Weeds - Season: 5, Episode: 3: "Su-Su-Sucio"
---------------
Found:
1. http://torrent.zoink.it/Weeds.S05E03.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION.[eztv].torrent
2. http://torrent.zoink.it/Weeds.S05E03.HDTV.XviD-aAF.[eztv].torrent
---------------
Rejected:
1. Error verifying torrent contents: the tracker returned no information
2. Episode is not of HD quality: 720p & HD not present in torrent title
---------------
Downloaded:
No torrent downloaded

Yet, when I go to
http://www.ezrss.it/search/index.php?show_name=Weeds&date=&quality=hdtv&release_group=&mode=simple

All the episode appears and I can manually add it to Transmission.

BTW: I then removed the EZRSS feeds and I get the message that says:

Code:
Oct 5, 2009 @ 1:04 PM:
Parse results for Weeds - Season: 5, Episode: 3: "Su-Su-Sucio"
---------------
Found:
No torrent found

About the Weeds episode. First of it not a very recent episode so that's why not many torrents are found.

But the real problem here is that the tracker is really down. If a look in uTorrent I get the message "connection closed by peer". uTorrent uses another method to retrieve the seeds, called DHT, which is currently not supported by ted. I looked into it once and at that time it didn't look like it was something that can be build into ted.

Huh. I went to the feed linked above and clicked the S05E03 link, it downloaded just fine with 15-16 seeders (I use Transmission). I have it now. Guess I'll just have to download the other episodes manually.
