I downloaded three shows last night (Family Guy, Cleveland Show & Entourage) and each was a fake file that told to me to download MovieXPlayer. Anyway I can avoid this? It never happened until .97 |

Basically that is why I wanted the ezrss feeds - I think you can edit the shows_clean.xml file so it will use less torrent sites. But, don't remember exactly. Know it is somewhere in the forums. |

ted has almost become unusable thanks to moviexplayer. About half of the files downloaded are fakes. Solution? |

I've used the new feature "download the torrent that has" = the most feeders. Don't have that problem (yet). |

That is something you could do. Go to 'Preferences -> Advanced' and select 'Download the torrent with the most seeders (slow)' I would like to know which site is releasing this torrent (or which tracker) so we can remove it from ted. So if you can find that out for me? |

Any idea which source these torrents originated from? Which feed? |

well if you did not restart ted (yet) then I could be able to read it from the log file. It is (when you're on windows) in 'Document & Settings/USER/Application Data/Torrent Episode Downloader/' send it to when it is there.. |

Sadly is no longer there, we are having bad times here with the Electricity company, everyday we get blackouts and voltage fails... The log.txt now only contains the following:
Code:
06/10/2009 @ 04:13 PM: Open config file C:\Documents and Settings\DragosCasaPC\Application Data\Torrent Episode Downloader\config.ted When I get another fake I will send it to you asap. |

I also had such movieXplayer video today. I can't really see how we could overcome this unfortunately... Do you know by any change if they are all from the same tracker? In that case we could filter torrents of that tracker out. Otherwise I'm afraid we've to rely on the community that these kind of videos don't get a lot of seeders and won't be downloaded by ted. |

I noticed that whatever cockroach is running this scam starts posting TV shows before the show has even aired. It's possible that if you set ted to check for torrents only once or twice a day, say at 6am and 6pm, the legitimate postings will have the most seeders and ted can avoid the fakes by using the "most seeders" option. I'll give it a shot today. |

An option to reject torrents with high amounts of seeders to peers(if just found). All the xplayer ones i have gotten have been found with ~3000 seeds and ~200 peers. Check to see if the torrent was found the last check and if not reject it if it has some outrageous amounts of seeds to peers. |

As you can see in one of the first posts it uses tracker.openbittorrent.com and tracker.publicbt.com. That are two generic trackers that you don't want to block (since they are used to publish a lot of torrents on). If you block those, you will block way too much good torrents as well... I was hoping these files all come from one of the torrent sites, but I'm unable to pinpoint which one that is.. |

I dont think you got my point. When a torrent gets released the ratio of seeds to peers will be low ie 100seeds to 2000peers. The xplayer stuff is just the opposite when they get released ie 3000seeds, 200 peers. This type of filter would be valid for newly released torrents ie in the last 3 hours. So if its not the first time checking for the torrent that session it would be quite valid filter. if first time checking for the torrent ignore the filter, if not make sure there are more peers then seeds |
