Hi,

I have a synology nas and I would really love to do a spk package based on ted sourcecode.
I don't want it to be web based, just something like a setup on the "DiskStation Manager"

They say on the synology forum that it's not that hard.
I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me to start on this project.
It looks like I need a tgz package of ted.

Thank you

Hi, I would love to help you out. Could you provide some more context as to what you're trying to achieve?

If I understand correctly you would like to run ted on your NAS. ted is java-based. Do you know if Java is supported on your NAS?

Yes of course,

What I understand is, that the Nas is based on Linux for it's operating system.
The User interface is on AJAX, but I don't really understand if I can use your code or I'll have to create something new.

What I hope to do, is a 3rd party application.
That we could configure on an embedded window of the UI.
Where we can add the tv-shows we want. Then it will give the torrent to the DownloadStation so he can download it and store the episode in the write file (that we specified in the configuration).

right now I don't know a lot of things, but I'm looking around to see if it's possible and how it has to be done, I found a pdf from Synology explaining the package must be compressed with the tgz file.
this is a wiki that I found: http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.ph ... kage_files
and this is the guide from synology: http://www.synology.com/enu/support/3rd ... ration.php

Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my english

Anymore news on this topic?
Is there anyone to develop this feature?
If not, I would like to do. Could you please give me feedback about?

Thank you in advance,

I unfortunately didn't found the time to do anything.

I only found some scripts to load a rss feed: http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic ... 38&t=18039

But it's ipkg, so you have to go to the terminal with ssh protocol to do it.
Have you already done some pkg for a synology?

hi,

my 2cents word for this case.
I have a Synology with torrent downloader included, I would LOVE to be able to deploy TED on it.

Synology is based on linux with Java included (and ssh/telnet too). But it does not have a X server (only ajax on a web page).
So only possibility would be to deploy TED on a "stand alone" mode with a web page access for example.
Does TED able to work this way? In background mode (a process) with a http client to control it?

Regards,
Laurent

Guys,
Let me add my 2 cents too...

What I did with my DNS-323 was:
1) Install Transmission in DNS-323;
2) Install a Transmission client in my Mac (the one I use is transmission-remote-gui)
3) Configured my transmission client to connect to my transmission server in the DNS-323
4) Ran TED in my Mac

That way, everytime I ran TED in my Mac it automatically opened Transmission Client and sent the torrent files to my NAS.

I just bought a Synology, and found out that there is a Synology package for Transmission Server, so it should be a breeze to install:

Good luck!
