ted v0.972
26 03 11 - 21:41Finally a new ted release!
As we did not have much time lately to work on ted we decided to do one final release. We have been running this release ourselves for the last year without any complaints.
We hope that you will be happy with this latest release as there will not be a new update any time soon.
You should open the source code and/or add some new developers. that way if you guys don’t have time anymore, perhaps there are some friends that could help you out.
Zid () - 26 03 11 - 23:11
yes, please open up the source code so others can carry on. A great program. It would be a shame to see it dwindle….
Harvey - 27 03 11 - 03:04
the new version causes all my shows to disappear…
I’m guessing this is due to the data being saved by simple serialization (which is a bad bad bad habit!)
the error in log is: java.io.InvalidClassException: ted.TedParser; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -4114968737322763347, local class serialVersionUID = 714473647072645172
thank god for time machine… back to the old version and there I stay until a fix is available…
moonshine () - 27 03 11 - 04:40
There’s no English translation in 0.972 and I tried adding one from https://ted.nu/wiki/index.php/Latest_.. but it did no good. Help :(
Jeremy - 27 03 11 - 05:31
You can access the source of ted via https://sourceforge.net/projects/ted
roel () - 27 03 11 - 16:27
Kinda strange the latest linux download comes with ted.exe.. mixed with the windows version?
It does not run by simply double-clicking ted.jar (or running “./ted.jar”) like before, but with “java -jar ted.jar” I was able to run it. But it does not read the existing shows.ted neigher can it import it. Whenever it trys to read/import the old shows.ted it displays the following error:
java.io.InvalidClassException: ted.TedParser; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -4114968737322763347, local class serialVersionUID = 714473647072645172

One final release that kills our saved shows. Thanks. I (& you) should learn to leave well enough alone…
Jeff - 31 03 11 - 19:42
New version doesn’t work (Win7 64 bit). Where can I get the old one back from?
Dan E - 05 04 11 - 04:26
I wish there was a way to edit which torrent sites are being checked. I find that quite often it downloads a fake file. There’s real torrents also available but TED doesn’t download again since it has already downloaded the new episode.
So, I wish there was a way to edit the torrent sites being used, so I can have my favorites site be prioritized and the one with the most fake torrents be deleted.
Linnea () - 06 04 11 - 10:42
Since upgrading to the new version last night, I am unable to edit my shows… I am using it with Vista…. Has anyone else experienced this?
Graham - 12 04 11 - 18:00
Wow, this program is amazing! I was using catch and it is junk compared to this. Please don’t stop developing.
Spanky - 16 04 11 - 06:41
just found this tool – installed – nothing works.
Whatever i choose, always the log says ‘An error occurred while retrieving torrent info’ – when i manually download the torrent, it work. So i get no automation – what should this tool be worth for, if not the slightest parts work?
tosh - 17 07 11 - 18:41
I’m new to TED. Running Linux/Xubuntu 10.10/XFCE desktop. I have Java installed, but when I try to run Ted I get the following error message: java -jar ted.jar

mike - 17 11 11 - 21:44
oh, and so I tried to install the Windows version with Wine and I get the “ted needs java runtime environment 1.5.0” error message. I have Java 6 installed. Do I need an old version of Java to run TED?
mike - 17 11 11 - 21:47
I have 2 versions of TED in my Win 7 64 Uninstall Programs.
9715 and 9712
LONG LIVE TED!!!!!!!!!!!

MrMe - 10 12 11 - 21:15
Um can we do anything about Late night with craig ferguson being completely bollocksed up? It says the previous episode was release in 2020 and wont allow for other options
TG - 15 01 12 - 10:15
Is there any development still going on for ted? It’s a great program that I’d hate to see die.
Sean () - 08 02 12 - 06:44
Will this version support kat.ph RSS feeds? I can’t understand why this site is not supported currently. Even my user generated feeds don’t work.
RL - 29 02 12 - 18:45
Doesn’t work well in OS X Lion. Lots of little things, like not being able to quit (having to force quit), etc. Not sure why.
fazero - 02 03 12 - 21:33
Please release the source code so the community can get to work on improving this application!
Btjunkie is dead and the pirate bay only has magnet links now so basically TED is useless right now.
Xeno - 21 03 12 - 00:19
Hi R en J, fantastic program. I’m a huge fan of TED. Keep it up. I’m having trouble with one thing though. I’m not able to add a RSS feed of Kickass Torrents (kat.ph). What am i doing wrong? I looked into the TED documentation but could not find a way to do this. Kickass Torrents currently seems to find any episode i’m looking for. It whould be great to use its rss feed with the power of TED.
hope to hear from you guys.
Kind regards Smodzy
smodzy [NL] - 22 03 12 - 09:06
Hi!
Please publish the source code! TED is great and has a lot of neat features, but it works less and less. I wrote myself a similar program which uses magnet links exclusively from piratebay as well as kickasstorrents. pretty robust, but it lacks the detailed show information you guys got.
If anyone is interested in testing it yourself, just answer here and I’ll see what I can do.
Hans - 29 03 12 - 20:36
Oh nice!
I actually just started working on one of my own. Got episode data and feeds working, torrent searching and downloading. All that remains is autodownload.. not bad for 2 days of work but I’ll definitely look over the source! Thanks!
Xeno () - 31 03 12 - 21:59
Check the URL for source code. I hosted it at assembla.com. It’s written in C# using .NET4. All you need is Visual C# 2010 Express. Should compile and run just fine.
The only feature missing is the neat episode info that ted has. I wonder where they get the air dates, etc.
Hans (URL) - 02 04 12 - 10:43
to elaborate on what skywalka said, there are unique IDs that each of those sites use to give out schedule info. For example, Breakout Kings has a TVRAGE ID of 24612, and an Epguides ID of breakoutkings. I assume that ted slurps the info about a given shows schedule from a database that either tvrage or epguides hosts.
Sean - 02 04 12 - 23:17
Ah thanks for pointing me in the direction of tvrage and epguides. I was not aware of either site. I guess I’‘ll try to incorporate this into my app.
Hans () - 03 04 12 - 15:17
I really wish someone would pick up this project and run with it. TED was an incredible application and was a paramount piece in cutting the cord. I would like to get the source code if available and try to resurrect this magnificent software for my personal use. If anyone knows a alternative or has fixed the existing application, please let me know.

I managed to integrate episode info from TVRage into my application. It’s still not as feature complete as TED, but it is getting there.
Check the URL for source code. I hosted it at assembla.com. It’s written in C# using .NET4. All you need is Visual C# 2010 Express. Should compile and run just fine.
On the subject of TED: it seems the project is dead and there seems to be no move to publish the source. So all we can do is to reverse engineer the functionality into our own projects^^
Hans (URL) - 12 04 12 - 17:54
Hi Hans, the source code of ted has been available ever since we first published the app. It’s all on sourceforge. See our wiki for a howto:

roel () - 14 04 12 - 11:10
Thanks! I’ll look into it. However, Java is not my expertise… ^^ Any word on what the status of the project is? Do you guys plan to continue support?
Hans - 14 04 12 - 13:34
For the life of me I cant get the filter to work it keeps downloading Spanish episodes
