Ted is designed to run in the background and check once in a while if new episodes are released. To make sure ted starts whenever you boot your mac, you can let macos automatically start ted. To do this, first launch ted. Then right-click on the ted icon in you dock. Click "open after login". Now ted will start everytime you boot macos.
