Please join me and give a warm welcome to our new developer: Gonçalo.
After mailing us enthausiasticly with new ideas how to improve ted and it's code structure, we added Gonçalo to our development team. He's currently working on a headless version of ted, opening the road to deamon versions and browserbased controls of ted.
Welcome Gonçalo!
ps. if you have good ideas on how to improve ted and you know some Java, take a look at our developer guides and see how you can join us.
Great proggie … but a suggestion and a question. – Possible to sort the shows alphabetically? – How do you avoid downloading of WMV files? I have added !wmv in the filter but that does not seem to prevent the download of WMV torrents. The WMVs are showing up and when played are fake asking the user to download codecs … BAD!

Agreed, the WMV’s are terrible.
please fix in the next release :)

you can do this already although that might not be very clear. open the preferences and there you will find a filter for “compressed files” with “zip, rar, r01” in the text field. just add wmv to that list and you will never see a wmv again.
for the next release we renamed this checkbox to “do not download files with the following extensions:, let’s hope that is more clear.

I think easier filtering and fake avoidance should be a focus for the next version.
And as a lazy non coder I sure have a suggestion ;)
Could you add a global filter? (I found that all good torrents have “hdtv & xvid” in their names and have lots of seeders.)
Tuning the filters for each and every episode is not obvious and slightly cumbersome. ... Just a suggestion ;)
Keep up the great work and rock on!

Hello,
I’ve been looking for an open-source project of interest to join in on for quite some time. I’m actually a .net developer that’s currently doing systems development for a small manufacturing company. When I ran my own company, i worked on a few web crawler projects (again, in .NET). I’ve tried TED out and I like it, but I think I’d prefer a “season pass” similar to DirecTV or that of any DVR. Also, integrating options for private trackers, and integration w/ TOR (not sure if you have this ability yet). I’d love to help out in any way that I can. Please email me if you’d like some help; I’ll start downloading your code and seeing if I can help. =)
Justin
