Find the file shows_clean.xml and edit it.

at the top of the file are the entries for the torrent sites.

In my case I deleted the btjunkie entry, but you can also change the number 5 to 0 too, which tells ted not to use it.

Also remember every time you update the shows, you will have to make the changes again.

Checking the video length is hard. Remember: the video file is not yet downloaded, so ted has nothing to check. ted can only check the details of a torrent (file names, file sizes, seeders that kind of stuff). As long as they are all okay, ted will be fooled.

Ah, aight. I thought there was a way to check additional file-information even tho it's not yet downloaded.

This really should be implemented in the torrent-protocol.

Thanks - but I think that is for a PC - I am on a MAC.

Hey All

I'm starting to code a solution:
https://ted.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4800#4800

I welcome your input and assistance as I am just beginning to understand the structure of Ted's code.

Regards
WebRuss

Just wanted to say thanks roel! I appreciate the temporary fix to help reduce the frequency of these fakes.

If you go to your home directory/Library/Application Support Files/Torrent Episode Downloader/

the .xml file is in there.

Fake wmv's are showing up on eztv/ezrss now. :(

Last episode of Dirty Jobs for example.

Looks like the people doing this crap are making progress.

Am not sure if someone has suggested this before, but would it not be possible to implement a system whereby if you download one of these moviexplayer torrents you can select an option within the TED software to report the file to a central database which would then not allow other users to download this .torrent file (if 50 users for example had reported the dodgy file)?

Am probably not explaining myself very well but hopefully you might understand what i'm on about!

That's strange. Have you tried restarting ted?
