Can the Shows List be downloaded separately as a standalone?

The reason I ask is that after I updated the shows as prompted by TED it did not remove *isoHunt or *btjunkie from my shows feeds?

I'd just like to say that I think its fantastic that the developers of TED are so willing, and so involved, in accepting feedback and working to resolve issues.

Thanks guys!!

Greetings...

Jofo, what is the version # of the new shows list? I currently have 39 and it still had btjunkie and isohunt. Even after deleting them from shows_clean.xml and reloading TED, it still uses them. I see references to btjunkie and isohunt in config.ted. Is that why?

2nd to jaggles. Appreciate what you developers have done and are continuing to do.

Jofo, thoughts on the ratio feature. 1st -- Make it optional. 2nd -- make it a range with upper and lower bounds with 0 and infinity being legitimate values.

Thanks to everyone for participating!
Bob

Version 39 is the latest. What happens when you go to help -> synchronize shows (or something like that). You should then get a window where you can select the latest shows list to synchronize your shows with.

This should happen automatically but I've the feeling that sometimes this doesn't happen.

Ok, It's under Help>Software Updates>synchronize shows. And doing that did remove the nasties from my feeds.

Thanks Jofo :)

Voila!

That worked for me, too. That updates config.ted from shows_clean.xml? Not that it matters, just curious. Thanks, Jofo!

I got to thinking about the MovieXPlayer problem and maybe there's a simpler solution. Currently, there already is a "Minimum Seeders". Perhaps just add a "Maximum Seeders" as well. The MXP fake files tend to have an outrageous Seeder count. This could filter that out. They could get around this too, obviously, but then their file wouldn't stand out when you sort by seeds, which hurts their "marketing" -- if you can call it that. Just food for thought.

Go to Help>Software Updates>Synchronize Shows.

It should remove the problematic feed links. it did for me anyway & all my downloads have been clean since.

I made a development build so that you guys can check out the new functionality. It incorporates the ratio option as described in this topic. It is not finished yet (that's why it is a development build :)) but the current functionality should work.

Information about how to install the development build can be found on the wiki

I downloaded three shows last night (Family Guy, Cleveland Show & Entourage) and each was a fake file that told to me to download MovieXPlayer.

Anyway I can avoid this? It never happened until .97
