I find TED to be absolutely unreliable, so unreliable it's unusable. When I manually search for the shows I want, generally speaking I want the largest file size with at least a few seeders and the most leechers. Frequently I see shows with non uniform Season Episode designations. Frequently I see shows which are labeled HD or HDTV but probably aren't. I have been totally unsuccessful adding a RSS feed to TED and use it to help find shows. I have tried to get Ted to find torrents to download for: Spartacus, NCIS, Burn Notice, and the Daily Show. None of which have ever worked.

What am I doing wrong?

For example: Doctor Who. I am downloading "Doctor.Who.2005.5x04.Time.Of.The.Angels.720p.HDTV.x264-FoV.mkv". This is the show that aired on Saturday 24 April 2010. I found it using the torrent search engine torrentz.com. If I go to the TED “add a show” function and add Doctor Who my episode choices are “Next Episode: Season 26, Episode 15 or Season 27, Unknown air date” and “Last aired Episode ‘Survival, Part Three’ Season 26, Episode 14. Aired on Thursday December 7, 1989 and custom. If I select ‘custom’, I am presented with a large list of grayed out episodes reaching far into the past, with only a few of the episodes shown as available. The automatic episode scheduler also does not have correct information because Epguides & TVRage do not have anywhere near current information.

God, I really hope thats a typo. If not WHY would you want the most leechers?

No Typo, I have found this to be the fastest way to get what I want and to finish off seeding the torrent.

You can add the show with the setting 'next show'. Then manually change the show you want by double clicking the show and setting the needed episode.

For me it also helps adding extra rss feeds to the shows I want to see. More info on this found at:
