hi !

I reformated my harddrive and installed Win 7. I THOUGHT I backed up my ted shows, but no shows are listed when I try to import the .ted file. the .ted file is 63.9 KB ans should have around 10 shows.

do I need to place the .ted file in a spesific folder, instead of using the import-function? I can send you the file if you need to take a look at it. Thanks.

Could you try exiting ted and placing the file in:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Torrent Episode Downloder\

Restart ted and see if it works.

tried that, didn't work.

already in the folder you suggested were

config.ted
log.txt
shows.ted
shows_clean.xml

my ted backup file is called ted.ted. I renamed it to shows.ted after backing up the original file, still no change.

do you want me to send my file to you?

sure. I take it you're installing the same version as you were using before?

I'll see if I can figure it out.

This moved off forum, but just for anyone else reading.

Replacing the shows.ted with the backed up ted.ted file worked on a second try. If anyone else encounters this wait 30 seconds after closing ted to make sure the process is dead and the file is free.

Also I tested the move from 32-bit to 64-bit win7 and it seems to work fine.

Import /may/ work or not, I didn't test it.

(Also MrT had two good suggestions I'll include here so I know where to find them, hopefully he won't mind my cut-paste from email:

1. Highlight the background for the shows that turn up “found torrents but downloaded none. Check log”. That way I don’t have to strain my eyes by trying to read that tiny text, and can instead just check by color.

2. An option to save the shows.ted file to a specific location. That way I don’t have to remember to move it to my backup partition next time I decide to do a clean install of my OS.)

Hey Ken
Thanks for pitching in.

If I could just comment on that suggestion above -- I suggested something similar a while back (which actually did make it in as a feature addition, but not implemented as yet) so for completeness I thought I'd just re-iterate because it kind of fits into the above.

My suggestion was that, when Ted isn't working optimally it's a huge pain in the ass to try and figure out whether a particular show is green because, today is the air date, the torrent just hasnt quite been posted yet, or really, its been weeks since the air date and obviously ted hasn't a chance of picking it up now several weeks later.

So if you have say 6 or 7 shows showing green, it can be a real hassle to identify the ones that need attention, among the ones that are just turning green , downloading that day, and going back to waiting on the schedule.

Anyways my solution to this was, to add, "Aired X days ago" to the "airs in x days" display. I don't know whether it needs a special colour or not, but if you did decide to do some kind of "warning" color for the torrent error suggestion, maybe this would be good too.

thanks,

Cory
