Hi, my copy of TED just switched from English to Spanish. I have no idea why and can't seem to change it back.

It was in English and notified me that there were new show definitions to download. I downloaded them and then all of a sudden everything was in Spanish.

Everything else on my mac seems to be set normally in English.

I'm running TED 0.96 on Mac OS X 10.5.6, on a PowerPC G4 iBook.

Any ideas?

Nick

You've to go to the preferences menu. In one of the tabs there is a drop down menu which let you select your language.

I hope you can find it in the Spanish ted :)

Hi,

I just got exactly the same problem on my new install. I've just installed v0.9715 on Windows 7. On this version, there doesn't seem to be a Language option in the Preferences menu - is there a registry value I need to update/ correct? :!:

I'm also in v0.9715 on Windows 7. My language drop-down is in Extra/Preferences / Look & Feel tab (at the bottom). I've pasted a screenshot below. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me on this. My Look and Feel options screen doesn't include a Language option, although according to the tab order, I think it's there, but hidden - see attached.

If there's a registry location I can change, that would be great!

Hi,

Figured it out - the resolution on my screen was too large. The options screens are fixed to a particular size; if the font is too large inside, you don't see all the options.

Hope this helps you fix it.

I have the same issue, and english seems to dissapear from the language selection box.

the issue seems to occur when TED writes to the config.ted file on open. It changes the locale_language and locale_country fields to the wrong values, ie:

locale_language=ca
locale_country=AD

when it should be

locale_language=en
locale_country=CA

it seems if you open the jar directly, it overwrites the changes, however if you use the ted.exe file it will properly use the settings in the config file, although at some point it still gets mixed up.

In Options one can choose to display English or Metric units. However choosing English units, although Altitude and Distance will show in miles, the Terrain Elevation always shows in meters, not in feet.
