Refresh Time

Ted searches for new episodes every now and then, you can edit the interval by entering a new refresh time.

Download Folder

You have to select a folder where ted downloads torrents to when he finds a new episode. Optionally, you can let ted fire up your default bittorrent client (for now only on windows machines) when a new torrent is found. When your OS or torrentclient does not support this, you need a torrentclient that can check a folder for new torrents every once in a while.

Starting ted

There are two options you can set for starting up ted. First is if ted should be minimized to tray (the bottom right part of your screen) so it doesn't bother you. The second is if ted should check for a new released version of itself. When a new version is found it will alert you and redirect you to the download page of it.

Alerts

Further you can enable or disable alerts that ted shows when he finds a new episode or encounters an error. You can let ted check for new versions at startup and let ted start minimized in the system tray.

Show definitions

You can also set if ted has to look for new show definitions at start up and if it should update your existing shows with the new information. Sometimes only new shows are added to the show list but it can be that one torrent sites ted uses has adjusted their set-up. If your shows are then not up-to-date ted will not be able to find new shows. The latest show file can also be downloaded by clicking Help -> Check for new show definitions and updating the shows can be done by clicking Help -> Synchronize.

Timeout and seeders

The timeout option lets you set the time ted should wait for response from the torrent site (for searching or downloading a show episode). If a site is down this option makes sure ted doesn't get stuck and it also speeds up the searching process.

There are two ways ted can handle the minimum amount of seeders you can set for a show. The first option is to stop looking after this criterium is met and download the show. The other option is that ted will continue looking and downloads the torrent with the most seeders. The more seeders the faster the torrent will (probably) be downloaded but this highly slows down the searching process.
