Open the software updates preferences window by clicking Edit -> Preferences... in the main menu of ted and select the Software Updates tab.
You can enable or disable the software update functionality. When enabled, ted will check for a new version of itself at startup. When a new version is found it will alert you and redirect you to the download page.
You can also trigger the update process manually by clicking the Check for updates of ted button.
You can set if ted has to look for new show definitions at start up and if it should update your existing shows with the new information. The show definition list contains the predefined shows that are listed in ted. We update this list everytime new shows are aired or when torrent sites change their setup.
The latest show file version can also be checked manually by clicking the Check for predefined show updates button.
